Mindframe was mesmerizing in the Stephen Foster Stakes (G1). The four-year-old colt by WinStar Farm's Constitution put his talent and strength on full display as he held off charges from 2024 Champion Three-Year-Old Male Sierra Leone, Oaklawn Handicap (G2) winner First Mission, and 2024 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Mystik Dan.
His one-length victory earned him an automatic berth into the Nov. 1 $7 million Breeders' Cup Classic, though connections stated that his versatility could lead him to the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile or even the Sprint to avoid a clash with the Repole-owned Fierceness.
The Stephen Foster marked his second Grade 1 triumph and third consecutive win. He started his undefeated year with a 1 1/4-length victory in the Gulfstream Park Mile (G2) before snagging the seven-furlong Churchill Downs Stakes (G1) by a neck on Kentucky Derby day.

Mindframe was not short on talent last year, either. He won his first two races by a combined 21 1/4 lengths, then turned in runner-up performances behind Dornoch in the Belmont Stakes (G1) and Haskell Stakes (G1).
He has a nice pedigree to match his record, too. His sire, Constitution, the leading stallion son of Tapit, was a top-six General Sire in 2024 and 2025 and is the sire of horses like Tiz The Law, Independence Hall, and Catching Freedom. His dam, Walk of Stars, a daughter of Street Sense, was a black-type stakes winner herself. Owners Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable went to $600,000 to purchase him at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Mindframe's next race has not yet been announced, but he will be returning to Todd Pletcher's barn at Saratoga today to continue his road to the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
